Valentine (former) Valentine's Day
On February 14 we commemorate the saint known worldwide as the "patron saint of lovers" ma al di là di questo cosa sappiamo di lui? Quando è vissuto Valentino e perché gli viene attribuito tale titolo?
Ricorrendo all'etimologia il suo nome sta per valorem tenens, "che mantiene valore", cioè che persevera nella santità, oppure significa valens tyro, "valoroso soldato", ovvero soldato di Cristo. Valentino in effetti intraprese una dura battaglia contro l'idolatria e la vinse grazie alla sua fede patendo il martirio; vissuto infatti nel III sec. d.C. fu arrestato per ordine di Claudio il Gotico e decapitato sulla via Flaminia.
La festa di questo santo martire di Roma - che veniva tra l'altro invocato contro i mali della peste e dell'epilessia - pare fosse celebrata già all'epoca di Gregory the Great.

- Day Valentine heard two lovers quarreling outside the hedge of his garden met them holding out a beautiful red rose. Sabino disperato chiese l'intervento del santo vescovo dicendogli che vivere senza Serapia sarebbe stato per lui un inutile e insopportabile martirio. Valentino alzò le mani e la voce a Dio e un sonno beatificante unì per l'eternità i due innamorati.

In cell Valentino was concerned for children who no longer had a safe place to play. Valentino recognized them and tied a bag around the neck of a little heart-shaped with a note inside. Children and family members read the ticket. Want to know what was written?
